Share photos on Historic Environment Scotland website

Historic Environment Scotland (HES) is gathering stories, photographs and videos about how historic places have benefited visitors to sites physically, mentally and emotionally – from finding calm among nature at Doune Castle, to gaining a new perspective at the Ring of Brodgar or enjoying a better night’s sleep after exploring Linlithgow Palace. In fact, 60% of people reported improved wellbeing after spending time at a HES site.

Connecting with your local and national heritage is a great way to boost your mental, physical and emotional health – whether that’s through a brisk walk, a slow wander, or pausing to photograph your surroundings.

Historic Environment Scotland is inviting everyone to visit a site, then share a photo or video expressing how it made them feel. Will you be among the 60% of people who reported improved wellbeing after visiting a HES site?

Check out the submissions, submit your own, and access HES staff members’ favourite walks and area guides now by visiting the HES website (click here)
