Long fascinated by the exploits of early polar pioneers such as British explorers Scott and Shackleton, Frank had already made a number of trips above the Arctic Circle when, in late 2015, he achieved his ultimate goal of setting foot on the “White Continent’ of Antarctica.

This exhibition of 40 photographs conveys some of the wonders of that continent recording a journey that began in Southern Argentina, visiting the Falkland Islands and the sub Antarctic island of South Georgia before arriving at the Antarctic Peninsula.

Each of Frank’s stunning photographs of the wildlife, land and seascape of the southern ocean is supported by an information panel highlighting everything from population histories and the current status of birds and mammals to the dangers facing the ecology of the region.

Memories of majestic snow-capped peaks, on South Georgia and in Antarctica, will remain with Frank forever but it was the abundance and variety of wildlife that had the greatest impact.

Frank has deep concerns over global warming and the pollution of our oceans so these photographs portray the wildlife and landscape of a phenomenon of our planet and illustrate it’s natural value to us all.
