PAGB Inter-Federation Competitions

The PAGB Inter-Federation Competitions are held each June. Federations submit entries from the members of their affiliated Clubs, each May, in four sections – Monochrome Print, Colour Print, Open PDI and Nature PDI.

Trophies are awarded to the winning Federations. PAGB medals and ribbons are awarded to the top individual entries in each section.

A Print Exhibition is selected from the joint Monochrome and Colour entries and is shown in various locations between July and January. A projection version of each Exhibition is available from the SPF Recorded Lecture Secretary later the same season (click here) for details.

The Monochrome section is run under the same definition as the SPF use. See Services area (click here) for a copy of this.

The Nature Section is run under the NEW PAGB Nature definition. Please (click here) for a copy.

Members of any Scottish Club are eligible for their work to be considered for selection in the SPF’s entry. Entries are taken from those supplied by individual authors, Clubs and from our SPF Digital Championships and SPF Portfolio entries. Details of how to submit work for consideration will be given below shortly.

PAGB Inter-Fed Scottish Entry 2023

This year the PAGB Inter-Federation Competition Judging was open again to Prints only with Three Sections being Judged Colour, Mono and Nature where up to 30 prints per section could be submitted by each Federation, with the top scoring 15 counting to the overall Federation placing.

The SPF made up this year's entry largely from the delayed SPF Print Championship, and we are very grateful for the Clubs and Individual Photographers who gave us their permission to use work from the 2023 Championship, together with additional prints submitted for possible selection.

The Judges were Jenny Hibbert (WPF), Roger Parry (MCPF) and Nick Hilton (L&CPU). The Judging was hosted by the L&CPU as a closed event in early June.

A total of 1150 prints were entered by the PAGB Federations, so it was quite an achievement to gain an acceptance in the Exhibition. The full results are now available below which saw SPF finish 5th in the Colour Print Section, 9th in the Nature Print Section and an excellent 2nd in the Mono Print Section, with the following prints in each section being accepted into the Exhibition -
